Frequently Asked Questions
The following checklist provides a guideline to help answer questions regarding our Sponsored Residential placement for families. People interested in learning more about our “Sponsored Residential Program” are encouraged to attend our “What’s Next Seminar”. Please contact our corporate office at 757-460-7930. A representative from our office will sign you up for the next upcoming seminar.- The Program
- Our Agency is licensed under the “Intellectual Disability” (ID) Waiver.
- Family and Spouse Involvement
- All family members over the age of 18 who reside in the home have been through the " Sponsored Training Program " , All family members under the age of 18 have attended a one-on-one "Children's Acknowledgement Training" .
- Placement Match
- The sex of an individual placed in the home is based off of the majority of the home’s current sex. For example if the home is 60% male and 40% female then the individual placed in the home will most likely be a male.
- Sponsor Residential Placement process length
- Upon completion of Meet-n-Greet between the potential Sponsor and the Individual seeking placement our staff is committed to completing the placement process.
- Barrier Placement
- We can accommodate the need for a barrier home.
- Staff Level/Mobility
- 24 hours staff w/asleep overnight staff. With a Relief Sponsor on call in the cases where a 24 hour awake overnight staff is required. Will provide repositioning during the day and night if needed or stated in the personal centered plan.
- Transition Match
- Our agency offers a trial weekend visit between potential sponsor and Individual seeking residential services before finalizing placement.
- Nutrional Support Plan
- Our sponsors are trained to design monthly menu planning with the individuals nutrition needs in mind and following all outlines in their PCP.
- Promotes Fine Motor/Gross Motor Skills
- Our agency promotes fine motor and gross motor skills by providing activity suggestions that all individuals can attend.
- Transportation
- Sponsors will provide transportation for individuals to all medical appointments, social engagements, recreational activities, and any religious or non religious functions they chose to attend.
- Money Management Program
- Individuals will have a fiscal account set-up with Child and Family Services. They will receive a monthly allowance up to $180, to use for personal products or items of their choice. Sponsors are required to submit the worksheet form with receipts to the corporate office once a month.
- Medical Needs
- Our agency has a corporate account with local medical institution to ensure that individuals receive their annual physical and monthly medication. We also have a dental plan established with a dental organization to make sure individuals receive regular dental check-ups.
